A truly magnificent instrument attributed to Antonio Mariani, Pesaro Italy, ca. 1675. Slab cut spruce top, paired with birds-eye maple ribs, and matching four-piece birds-eye flat back. Scroll volute is original to the instrument, attached to a later pegbox.
