A fully carved 5/8 double bass, attr. to Francois Pillement, ca. 1800. This bass was originally a 3/4, but the outline and f-holes were altered at some point in its life to 5/8 proportions. BVS completed a top-off restoration in 2020, which included new back bracing, rib repairs, top repairs, scroll repairs, new fingerboard, new bridge, and a total setup.
If you're in the market for a beautiful smaller bass that's a blast to play, this would be equally at home in the orchestra, a jazz combo, a chamber ensemble, or would make an outstanding solo instrument! Consignment.
