Mitch Moehring #5, 2020 made in Kilgore, TX. This is his 3/4 “Lola” model, an outline based on a beautiful Italian bass by Alvisio Piatellini. It features a spruce top, American walnut flatback and ribs, and a removable maple neck/scroll.
The ergonomics and proportions of this bass make it extremely comfortable to navigate in both the lower and upper registers. We honestly think that this bass would be a spectacular instrument for whatever style(s) of music that you play — orchestral, jazz, solo, etc. The Golden Age of double bass making is upon us, folks… come see for yourself!
