Roger Lotte, ca. 1960s
French octagonal pernambuco bow, made by Roger Lotte, Mirecourt ca. 1960. Fully mounted in nickel silver with Parisian eye, and ebony frog. A player's example of this maker’s output, that handles with elegance and finesse! Consignment.
Roger Lotte (1922-1989, Mirecourt) apprenticed with his father, Francois Lotte (a very successful bowmaker in his own right), from 1935-1940. In 1940 he became his father's main collaborator until 1960 when Roger took control over the family business. Roger Lotte was a known supplier of bows for several notable dealers of his generation, including Dupuy, Millant, Vatelot, and Hillaire.
