E.M. Pollmann, 1968
-- SOLD! --
A carved 3/4 bass made by the EM Pollmann shop in 1968. It features a very fine-grain spruce top paired with a beautifully figured maple round back, figured maple ribs, and flamed maple neck. Varnish is original and the bass carries ebony fittings, a maple adjustable bridge, and single plate tuning machines. This neck is a later replacement installed by the David Gage shop in NYC and was beautifully done. Non-original necks/scrolls do lower the value of an instrument slightly, so this can be your opportunity to get a killer vintage Pollmann at a great price!
For decades, this particular bass was the personal instrument of Rick Jones, founder of Acoustic Image amplification. Rick was a pioneer in double bass amplification and this instrument played an integral role in the development and sound of his products. Not only does it sound terrific, but it's a piece of history!
