French 3/4, ca. 1920s
A French 3/4 made in Mirecourt ca. 1920s. This bass features a spruce top, beech ribs, beech flatback, and beech scroll. It carries the original French tuning machines, ebony fittings, and an adjustable maple bridge. The name E. Coiffier is branded at the button and is a relic of the Parisian dealer who sold the bass new. This is a very responsive bass, with a free, warm, and punchy sound - perhaps the ideal jazz bass!
