Josef Rubner, ca. 1910
A carved 3/4 size bass made in Germany ca. 1910, probably by the Josef Rubner shop. A very well-made instrument, with spruce top, flamed maple roundback, ribs, and neck/scroll. Instrument retains original varnish, brass tuning machines, and neck. Recent top-off repairs were completed at BVS, including a new bass bar. This is a punchy and even bass that has that nice balance of warmth and clarity! Consignment.
