Kay S-51, 1940
A 1940 Kay S-51 model that features laminate construction with spruce top veneer, highly flamed back and side veneer, inlaid purling, ebony fingerboard, ebony tailpiece, and Kluson tuning machines. This 5-string was Kay's foray into 5-string basses, which eventually became the Chubby Jackson model. A beautiful, rare bass in terrific condition!
