Marc Laberte, c.1930s
A smaller 3/4 size double bass made ca. 1930s in the Mirecourt shop of Marc Laberte (1880-1963) that features a spruce top paired with a maple round back, and regional maple neck/scroll. It carries ebony fittings, a maple adjustable bridge, and French tuning machines with Bakelite handles. A very comfortable instrument that would be equally at home in a solo, chamber, or orchestral setting!
