A spectacular Carlo Antonio Testore copy by Marco Nolli and Marianne Lenzini of Cremona, Italy in 2025. This instrument features a spruce top paired with a beautifully figured one-piece poplar back, matching ribs, and a figured poplar scroll. It carries ebony fittings, a maple bridge, double purling, and ornate Rubner tuning machines. This bass offers a depth and core to the sound that is difficult to find in new instruments, and would be an excellent orchestral or solo instrument!
Marco Nolli is an internationally-regarded, award-winning maker, earning a 1988 Gold medal at the "A. Stradivari" international violin competition of Cremona (doublebass), a 1994 First prize at the "A. Stradivari" international competition of Cremona (doublebass), a 2012 Gold medal (double bass) at the "A. Stradivari" Triennial violinmaking competition of Cremona and the "P. Balzarini" special gold medal prize for the Cremonese maker with the best workmanship, and many others!
