A classy French bass bow stamped P de Barbieri Genova, made by Paolo de Barbieri in Italy ca. 1940's. Made of very straight grain pernambuco, with ivory tip, whalebone lapping, and black leather grip. Frog is ebony, fully mounted in silver with three-piece octagonal button. This is a modern replacement frog for everyday use -- original frog is included in sale. This bow spent many years in the Boston Symphony Orchestra and handles extremely well. Agile, stable, and pulls an effortless sound! Consignment.
