Detailed valuation: detailed description of the instrument, photos, measurements, and insurable value - $80

A French style double bass bow crafted in Calgary, Canada by Patrick Staples in 2026. This bow features a round stick of beautifully flamed purple heart, with a synthetic tip plate, nickel winding, and black leather grip. The frog is ebony fully mounted in nickel, with abalone slide, and nickel button. 145g.

Patrick is a professional bassist in the Calgary Philharmonic who has developed into a renowned bow maker. His experience as a pro player allows him to create beautiful bows that play exceptionally well. His bows can be found in professional orchestras across North America and Europe, including the Vancouver Symphony, London Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Chicago Lyric Opera, National Arts Centre Orchestra, National Ballet of Canada, Pacific Symphony, Winnipeg Symphony, and many others!
