A small 5/8 size double bass crafted in São Paulo, Brasil by Paulo Gomes in 2009. Gary Karr was the proud owner of a Gomes bass and stated that he was "...the finest bass maker in Brazil and one of the greatest luthiers in the world...".
This fun little instrument features a spruce top paired with a highly flamed regional wood, matching ribs, and matching scroll. It carries ebony fittings, brass single plate tuning machines, a brand new BVS maple bridge, a Marvin tailpiece, and a removable neck with adjustable projection for changing string heights.
