A rare double bass crafted by Samuel Kolstein in 1964. This is one of twelve basses that Sam made, and it features a spruce top, plain maple round back, matching ribs, and maple neck/scroll. The varnish is original and the instrument carries ebony fittings, a maple adjustable bridge, and 20th century French tuning machines with Bakelite handles.
