A stately old 7/8 size Tyrolean bass that was the primary instrument of Frank Tusa, long-time bassist with David Liebman, and a bassist that performed or recorded with Art Blakey, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Herb Ellis, Art Farmer, Freddie Hubbard, and MANY others!
This instrument dates from the second half of the 19th century and features a spruce top, maple flatback, maple ribs, and a maple scroll. It was recently restored and is in a good state of health, so if you're looking for a big bass that puts out some serious sound, this one would be equally at home in a bass section or on the bandstand!
